He has a collection of books and access to thousands of traditional and historic dances online. He can call period dances for SCA events, weddings, parties, school groups, church events, or casual gatherings with friends. Contact us to discuss your event and what type of dances you may want your group to experience. After consulting with you, he can build exactly the right kind of dance list for your gathering. He can include a mix of easy and hard dances, all easy dances, a mix of different types of dances, and even custom dances. He likes to include historical introductions to each dance as it is called so the dancers know what era the dance originates from. All dances are taught to the dancers before they are danced, so even completely inexperienced dancers can participate.
Rivan has a minimum fee of $50 per dance event. Please contact us for a complete estimate for your event, which will include considerations of distance traveled and time available. (For example, a half day event will cost more than a 2 hour dance.) Rivan is located in the Treasure Valley in Idaho, but can travel for additional fees. Please state the location where your dance will be hosted.
